Nope Carl didn't get any help, looked like he overdrove turn 1 and was a little out of the groove and it just whipped around.

Left front spring got knocked out of the car on impact  Shocked looks like the car is pretty much trash now

This sucks. He qualified 21st when the message board was broken. It's fixed, and this happens..... I vote for breaking the message board again, if that's what it takes! Wink

The green and chrome is what Tom told me as to which was being run this weekend.  Of course I dont have SPEED so I'm not 100% sure.  I'd assume the red car will be run now.

You know, the more I think about it, they might use Carl's Dodge as the backup here at Richmond.  The reason why I'm thinking this is because the Dodge was always better at the Shorter tracks as well as Lowe's.  I think the team would like to keep the Red car for races at the bigger tracks (Darlington, Atlanta, Homestead, you guys get the picture, I hope. lol.)

Yep the car they were using was their Phoenix car with a different motor, or a lot of work done.
It's a mess.... I don't know what they're gonna do with it aside from salvage parts.

The only backup I originally thought could be with them is the red McGlynn Chevrolet. The Dodge isn't ready to go, to my knowledge, and I don't know what the plan will be at Charlotte. (Whether he's aloud to run the Winston Open or not.) Though, I can only imagine they'll have something ready to go for the Coca Cola 600.

Looks like Carl is due out to qualify 16th. On the official practice sheet, he ended up 46th of 47.
Poor Kirk Shelmerdine, the whole field is between 20.90 and 21.90 and there he was with a 22.40.
The only other driver going to a backup car is Ryan Newman. He overdrove turn 1 and it went straight to the outside wall. The car had pretty bad right side damage and his wheel alignment was destroyed.
