On Jayski it shows Carl tested today at Lowe's in the #37. He was 71st (slowest) but atleast he got out there and ran some laps. Maybe he'll be in the car at Lowe's? 71 37 Carl Long Dodge 31.022 174.070

Thats good news. Don't really know why he would test there unless other races are a possibility, can't use much you learn there for Darlington.

Ick, this is NOT good news. (at least to me) Confirms my fears about the #37. Of course I know that there were circumstances involved but with speeds like that, it can't be good. What's up with this anyway? Why no announcement of testing?

It was mentioned in another thread that maybe they were just getting the bugs out of the Darlington car. Doesn't make much sense, but I hope its true. If they were really trying to get a setup for Charlotte or similar tracks, this is very disheartening.
Hey......does anyone remember where Carter's Royal Dispos-all was based out of? Some town in Georgia. Used to say it on Morgan Shepherd's car. If I can get the town, and phone #, I'll give the shop a call and ask them whatsup. I can't remember the name of the town, but I know I've never heard of it and I've lived in Georgia all of my life.

Good to see that Carl is testing at Lowes. Maybe a sign of things to come? He needs to pick it up though. Day one on track with a new team for Carl...... what did you expect to put it on the front row? Would be great but inlikely. He'll get it going with them.

Unless it totally escaped my mind (which is possible) i dont think Carl had told me that he was going to test with the #37 team at Charlotte.

Just talked with a lady (wife maybe?) from the shop, she said that they went up there with Terry (who's Terry?) to just see how the car ran and go from there. She had not talked with anyone since they posted a lap. She said that either John or Roger could call me back, but I didn't want to bother them. I told her I was just a fan of Carls & the team and was just curious. Very nice lady.
I gathered that they were going to see how the car ran at Charlotte, not to prep for Darlington, at least to a great degree. But she said to call back once they got back home to the shop and the guys could tell me more.
But I'm guessing they could possibly attempt Charlotte if they feel they've gained anything from this test.
Does anyone know if the #37 would be eligible for the Allstar Race Open? Weren't they in the top 50 owners points from last year? Does that make them eligible? Heck I don't know anymore.

I think this can only be a positive for both the team and carl, no matter how fast or slow they were. Communication is key, I would rather have him go to Darlington with a day of testing under their belts together and be slow then show up at Darlington with no time together and have to guess on how exactly they repsond to each other. Hopefully when they get to Darlington they will be prepared and that this test helped.

I thought it was just the top 50 in driver points. No idea really though, hopefully it is owner points too.
