Matt, is there anyway that maybe you can get the audio to John and let him work his magic with it?   He's awesome at stuff like that.  There are many of us out there, such as myself, dying to hear this interview.

Not only do I have a duel cassette player, I still have.....ahem....a record player. For all of you who dont know what that is, ask your parents or grand parents. But I do own a cd player. My brother still has an 8 track player. Your going to have to go online to look up what that is.

I will try and upload it to my computer and save it as an MP3.  Then I'll let you guys hear it.  If I can't figure out how to do that, I'll burn it to CD and send it to John, or anyone else who wants to upload it to the net.  It will have to be a private link.  You know, that whole copyright infringement thing! There is no copyright issue.  Your interview is your property and since it is "public media" you can display it for discussion on a "relevant site."

There is is no more relevant site for a Carl Long interview than Carl-Long.com!!!

mattswad:

a good place to upload files is www.yousendit.com or www.megaupload.com

then you can just post the link in here

Yeah, I'm very interested how the interview went, if you figure it out how to upload it as MP3 file, that'll be great Matt Grin

No dancing nazi's but there were some definite racial overtones...completely accidental and only in a joking manner.

That's cool that I can post it.  I am heading home whenever the stupid Oscars are over.  Watching it with Destiny.  I'll post the link hopefully later tonight.

Thanks for the upload site links as well!

Can someone help me with this crap?

I've got a cassette of the interview, and I'm trying to record it onto my computer in a MP3 or WAV format.  I've got the cassette plugged into the "Line In" jack on my CPU.

"Sound Recorder" only lets me record 60 seconds.  Music Assmunch Match will only let me record from the "Line In" if I get their "Premium" version.  (ha, yeah right!)  Same with Real Crappy Audio Player.

In a brief google search, it seems every player/recorder makes you buy their "premium" version to get the ability to record from the "line in" source.  To hell with that!  There HAS to be a way around that.

Anyone know of software that will help me out on this?

Ugh.  Nevermind.  After searching through 65 pages, and 650 links on google, I never found ONE SINGLE sound recorder that would record from the "line in" source for free. Roll Eyes  I find it disgusting and APPALLING that in this day & age, companies still want to rape you out of $12 or more to simply record an analog source to your hard drive. Angry Angry Angry Angry

I finally got smart and realized that I have a "stand alone" CD burner I used to record CD's of all of my old 4-track stuff.  So I burnt a cd and then saved it to my hard drive.  Screw them!!!!

So I uploaded it to one of the sites you reccomended, but those chintzy bastards will only keep it online for 7 days.  So I also uploaded it to a new "PureVolume" account!  HA!!   Tongue

I will lock this thread so that I can post a new thread with the new links.  But for reference purposes, here are the links again...

http://s65.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1248A0HJAJYOA0GB06JH26YS8W

12.17 MB....13:19 long

And on pure volume:

Smaller 5.32 MB....still 13:19 long

The NEW thread concerning the interview is
