I have been trying to arrange an interview with Carl Long for our local Atlanta radio station WSB 750 ( http://wsbradio.com/) and its NASCAR radio show with Captain Herb Emory since Atlanta last spring. I sent the Captain a link last year but unfortunately he was unable to get in touch with Carl via the numbers provided to him. I forgot about that email, so I sent another today for the upcoming Atlanta race. Capt sent me an email back with his contact info and we talked for a bit. He said he's been trying to get in touch with Carl the whole time. One of his assistants, Ben White, who is also from NASCAR Scene/Illustrated (I think) was in Daytona this year and as he was walking down pit road right before the 150's asked the Capt, "is there anything I can get for you while I'm here?" And our good Captain said, "yes, you can get me Carl Long's contact info!!!" Which he did! And after my email today, once we talked, he said that he was planning on doing an interview with Carl already for Atlanta! One of the greatest things about his show is that he spends time talking about the underdogs, and little guys of the sport! And he seemed more than happy to do a segment about Carl! But that's not the best part...... You guys have to forgive me.....I'm still soooo ecstatic I can't even type or spell legibly. He said (somewhat word for word...forgive my excitement) that due in part to my email, that he would like ME to interview him on the air!!!!!! Captain Herb, you have made my YEAR!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!! So....here's my offer. You all are the greatest community I could imagine being a part of. You guys and gals are the greatest!!! You even put up with my political ramblings and rants about Fergie! Whatever I am blessed with, YOU are blessed with! So submit ANY and ALL questions, comments, suggestions, etc.... and I'll do my best to get all of them addressed on the show! I don't know the exact time frame for the interview yet. (how long, how many questions and such) But I'll get as much in as I can. I'll let you know the specifics as soon as I can. In the meantime, here is the info for the show: Radio Station---WSB 750 AM (don't let the "am" fool you...its one of the biggest stations in the southeast and the home to another of my favorite "radio personalities" Neil Boortz http://wsbradio.com/) There is also a "streaming audio" section so that ALL of you can listen to the station and his show, which airs on Saturday afternoon 3pm-5pm Eastern. Captain Herb's WSB Profie-- http://wsbradio.com/sports/herbnascarshow.htmlCaptain Herb's Web Page--- http://geocities.com/avsf120/WOW!! I'm so happy right now!!! Sorry for the 13 year old girl post, but what can I say, I'm "giddy!"

Its quite alright with me (as long as its ok with Tom and the rest) to SPAM the heck out of this thread with one liner posts/questions....so here's my first submission.
***--What do you think of the prospect of limiting the amount of teams an owner can have in a particular series?

Matswad, That is wonderful news! I live in Statesville, NC, not far from Carl and have been a fan since his first Cup qualifying attempt. I don't know why, but I saw his name on the line up and just started following him from there. I actually know about WSB as I listen to it a lot at night. IT comes in clear here at night.
When you interview Carl, ask him if he is free on the night of May 27 to attend my wedding. I know this a personal request but it would be an honor to have him attend. Hopefully he will be busy getting ready for the Coke 600 at Charlotte but the wedding is in Statesville and its really clost to Charlotte. Also, ask him what us hard core fans can do to help him keep his motivation? That's about all I can think of for now. Thanks for your hard work in lining up this interview! Bryan

***-We've seen some heated debates amongst fans of the various underdogs in the sport. It seems that there are as many heated battles going on in the race to "Get In" the field as there are for the races for the "top spots" and the race for the "top 35" which has been publicized so much here in the past year. What is the comrodary (sp?) like between the teams and drivers like yourself and say the McGlynns, Shepherd, Shelmerdine, LePage etc. Knowing that you are all fighting to get into the race and at the same time fighting the good fight against the likes of the Roushes, Hendricks, DEI, Evernham, etc.

My friend Mimi submits: ***If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be? (her generic first question for her interviews, but it DOES provoke some interesting responses!! LOL) And I have to ask: ***What is your arrangment with RoadLoans? Stan Hover? Engines? Number of races? Alliance with PEAK? McGlynns? ***What is the latest word on Victory Motorsports LLC? ***What's the deal with the #89 taking the name Victory Motorsports? Obviously some of these questions will be weeded out, filtered etc... after some thought. But I'm just posting things that are burning holes in my mind right now for the sake of documenting them online for future reference. Plus I'm going off of NO sleep for the past day or so and am kinda just floating right about now!

This is fantastic news Mattswad. Im happy for you. I will try to think of a question at work tonight.
Are you still thinking about a get together for the Oct 29th race in Atlanta? Just curious. I can make it but I need a bit of a notice. {a month or two}.....LOL Kind of inviting myself here.

Of course!!! And you're ALL invited! (you too hammer who is banned but still reading this...in fact, you can be the "guest of honor!" ) So Mike H and B&L get first dibs on the crash space! I'm going to start another thread shortly about the spring Atlanta race. But all that's in due time. I think I need a nap!

Please, just don't do the Chris Farley interview style - "Like, remember when you flipped over at Rockingham, and then you were interviewed, and then you said you saw everyone eating fried chicken, and stuff? That was awesome "

That was awesome " LOL. Or Mattswad, you can try the James Lipton method. "That 39th place finish at Atlanta back in 2002 for Foster Price. That was an excellent piece of expert driving, was it not? What's your favorite curse word?"

Sweet Matt!!!!!! Good Job Anyway------ What kind of track do you think Nascar should put on the tour? or Where to put a new track? What does he think of the top 35 rule (does he think they should go to the fastest 43). Who does he admire the most in Racing. Now or in the past.
