Let's face it. I don't think we'll ever see this team run. IMO, Morgan Shepherd's team taking the name sealed the deal.(Even if there was a technical discrepancy there.)
The good news is. We don't need them. Carl's got a ride with Hover, and I think it's better than nothing.

If they can secure sponsorship, they will run. But everyone is like that too. I am not sure. We might see it, but we might not. MMM is ready to do the satellite team thing so if it happens it will help them out too.

no way, they would have said something by now
Remember HOF Racing went a year without saying a word, it took like 1 1/2 years of sponsorship searching to find it. Though Terrance Mathis had a good NFL career, he wasn't an HOF like Staubach was. If it takes Roger Staubach 1.5 years to find a sponsor willing to dish out money, then VM may take a while.

actually it was even longer than that they were looking..... but it finnaly paid off...... I think it will happen.... maybe not this year... heck maybe not next year... but I think they will be running sometime in the future.......... That is of coarse if they are still thinking about it.... if they stopped lookin', then well yeah you get it...

Realistically it probably won't happen, since odds are against them. There are just so many teams out there in search of sponsorship, and many that are out on track right now while searching. A team with proven results in search of a sponsor may be more appealing than one on the wayside, with more hopes than results.

They'll run eventually because Mathis seemed pretty determined to do the team awhile back. It might take until 2008, but he sounded like he was determined. The only problem is that the team he's aligning with could be closing down at the end of 2006...so they may present a challenge.

The #34, #92, #89, and #74 will have to quit pretty soon, cause they aren't gonna make a race this season until they put Ward Burton in the car... There is no way a team can miss the first 5 races of a season and still have enough money to keep going unless they are Hendrick/Roush. I totally saw this coming with these teams, though. Although I didn't figure Shelmerdine would give up so soon... Also, if the #40, #96 and #55 have 2 more bad races, they are not gonna be in the top 35, which will make qualifying for race #6 very interesting

I don't think any of them will quit until they absolutely have no money. Kirk hasn't quit, I think he's just going to try to spend his money wisely and do the best he can this year.
It will be interesting to see what happens with these smaller teams. I hope they don't leave the sport. Then it will be all Rousch & Hendrick, pretty much, lol. There are some rules in NASCAR that I think need altering...ie, locking almost the entire in at races? A good example where this was insane was in the truck series race this weekend.

Interesting note here: Greg Biffle's team is currently 39th in owner points. I know the odds are very slim, but I'd love to see him miss the top 35 cut after the first 5.
