I don't like the name change, but there's nothing that I can do.

I don't like it at all.  It's been the Brickyard 400 since day 1.  Call me too much of a traditionalist, but I think it should stay as the Brickyard 400.

The thing I don't like about it though, is calling it the "Allstate 400" seems to really take away the excitment from it.  Used to be..."Brickyard 400!" That name would get anyone to watch, the traditional excitment, but now it just sounds like any other race.

That is true, the race always had a lot of hype even though the racing wasn't that good. Now the name changed killed it.

Read my signature and you'll know how I feel.. I love the sport but so long as I have been a fan (since 1984), it has been tougher and tougher to support something that pretty regularly sells out to the higher bidder. I guess as long as the racing stays competitive I'll be watching, maybe I should sell advertising space on my couch?

I believe in the Winston Cup, the Firecracker 400, World 600, and the drivers earning top rides through years of struggles..and I like it that way.

Why change the name? It's been Brickyard 400 for years, now it's Allstate 400?? So much for keeping the traditional name. Now days it's all about money, I could try rant and rave but I think Alyssa's dad knows how to do it better Wink Grin
