No, they never announced the potential of gaining a sponsor.  Hollenback owns SWAT and gets some support from Shanks on Ice, and Twin Arena or something like that.  But the team announced they were running the full schedule, sponsor or not, and they didn't.  Isn't that a lie?  No explination whatsoever.  I'll cut them a break if I got a reason or explination.  Chill.  I am not against them or anything I just don't like being lied to.  And its a very popular practice in the media-driven world of NA$CAR.  Remember the #73 team?

Ugh, Matt, remember a couple years back Carl was going to run for rookie of the year yet they didnt run the full schedule? MEDIA HYPE!!! Not. Things change and stuff happens, this is an expensive game and this kind of stuff is ongoing.

Scott Riggs and Morgan Shepherd out of the race from seperate incidents... both seemingly got loose and nailed outside wall in 3 & 4 with right side.

If Morgan Shepherd doesn't get any financing, he's claiming that this might be his last race.

That's just wrong, Long#00. You wouldn't dare say that if it had been Hermie.

I didn't get to see this race, could you guys help me with a few things?

Nextel Open:
How bad was Morgan's car?
What happened to Eric McClure?
Did Kevin Lepage just slowly drop back all race?

All-Star Challenge:
What happened to Matt Kenseth to put him 1 lap down to the rest of the field?

1. It was really messed up. Heavy right side damage all the way up to the side windows. Right front wheel wasn't moving.
2. No idea, i saw he did not pit during the caution where the majority did, then he just disappeared.
3. Pretty much he just dropped off.
4. I missed what happened to Kenseth.

I was told Kenseth had damage, but I'm not sure from what.

After tonight I really don't think we have to worry about Morgan Shepherd anymore....said if money doesn't come in for the team that the open would be there final race. Well thats what Larry Mac said on the broadcast and we can't always believe guys in the broadcast....lol

No, actually what happened was that the #59 team bailed on Carl.  (not his fault if I remember correctly....they just "didn't see eye to eye" after Daytona testing)  And the #79 team materialized when they were supposed to (around the Brickyard) but by that point the #85 Mansion Motorsports team (from whom they were supposed to lease the car) had already collapsed.  The #79 practiced for the Brickyard and attempted Pocono.  There were no unfullfilled promises.  The #59 bailed on Carl only to call on him later in the year.  The #85 owner bailed out of racing altogether about 1/3 way through the year.  And the #79 materialized and fulfilled their obligations in practicing (and possibly qualifying) for the Brickyard as well as the 2nd Pocono race.

And further more, we were all updated on the goings on of the team.  Not kept in the dark (AKA the teams I have referred to in the past).

Of course I know that "things change, etc..."   but I just hate being intentionally lied to (IE--"We're going to run the full NNC Schedule, sponsor or not") as I stated earlier in many previous posts.

Thanks.

Guess we might not be seeing much of Morgan anymore if money is as tight for him as has been told.  Doesn't seem like he's been up to speed all year long so this really is inevitable.
