Thought i'd run this by everyone to see what you guys think. I thought it would be a neat idea to have a fan of the month section on the website. Basically have people submit a story through e-mail on how they became a Carl Long fan. The best story (mostly based on quality and uniqueness) will get their story and their basic info (name/location/fan since info/photo maybe) published on the website as the feature for a month. each month will feature a new story; no need to keep resending your story if you are not picked the month after you enter as we will keep track of the stories already e-mailed to us. we would keep an archive of past feature fan stories on the site. I think it'd be a neat way to: showcase writing talent, hear how everyone became a fan, and in the process show teams and potential sponsors what a strong fan base Carl has. What does everyone think? I'm considering starting this in May if theres enough positive feedback. Any suggestions?

Sounds good to me. Could even make it weekly, or bi-monthly.
But I'd *rather* see the "pictures" section re-done. Its been lacking since the server change some time ago. And also an "about" section on Carl, with family/marital status, parents, stupid "favorites", (tv shows, books, movies, tracks, colors, numbers, etc) and more "personal" info.
Heck, I never even knew his father raced. Didn't know the name of his kids until illadybug posted, didn't know he even *had* kids until the post about DeeDee having the 3rd child. I would rather see stuff like this.
We could make a "sticky" to let people submit questions. I'm not talking about writing a book on Carl or anything, but to this day, I would venture to say that people know less about him, personally, than any other Cup driver in current competition.
But back to the topic, good idea Tom!

There could be an entire thread about Matts avatar...lol. Matt has been the fan of the month for 3 months on Shelmerdines site...lol. I do like the idea though.

I think its a great idea Tom! I said I was starting "FRM Fan of the Week" on my site a while back but never got a email from anyone. I guess you wouldnt get really that much exposure anyway.
