Bobby Hamilton announced today at Atlanta that he will step out of the #18 Fastenal Dodge after tonight to undergo treatment for cancer of the neck. Bobby Hamilton Jr. will assume driving duties of the #18 Dodge beginning at Martinsville.

The #1 cause of this form of cancer seems to be from chewing tabacco.... so yeah, stuff away from the chew...
55,000 new cases every year and 13,000 deaths so just based on averages he has a 76% chance of beating the deal... plus he caught it.. so i would put the odds closer to 80 percent....
pretty good chances... thoughts and prayers are with him.. his family.. and his doggies

Yea, I just now read this. I hope he beats this. Its funny what news will do to a fans perspective. I was never an overly huge Hamilton/Hamilton Jr. Fan. I thought they were ok. Now I want to see Hamilton Jr. do very well. If nothing else, just for his dad. Best of luck to both of you. |

Very sad and surprising. I listened to Bobby SR's pit chatter at the end of the truck race and it make me get all teary eyed. I'm sure he'll be back though!

I've lost all of my grandparents to cancer. It's not the least bit fun. I think Bobby should take some notes from Ted Musgrave on how to combat this. Best of luck bud!
