Pounding The Pavement---Energy Drinks?
« on: March 16, 2006, 10:54:25 PM »

The recent rash of energy drinks invading NASCAR is due to one thing, I'm thinking.  Red Bull announcing its joining of the sport next year with 2 full time teams.

These guys are swiftly taking over the world!  TWO F1 teams this year!  The first American since Michael Andretti in 1993.  Now stock cars with Toyota in 2007?!

Since their announcement, we have seen:

Who's Your Daddy-#13 (20 races in 06, full season in 07 & 08 to potentially combat Red Bull head on?)
Hair Of The Dog-#95 (full season this year for sure)
Amp-Experimenting with the #61

I know there's more I can't think of off-hand.

Can we all think of some more expanding energy drinks to send "sponsorship propasals" to?

Isn't Ludacris involved with Crunk Energy Drink?  I'll drop a letter in his mailbox personally! Wink   (actually, I'd probably mail it because I think that's a felony and he probably has security cameras monitoring his driveway! Smiley  smart thinking...and its worth the 40 cents......how do you make the "cent" signal on the keyboard?)

Yeah, there sure have been a lot of energy drinks here lately.  They are all over the cars!  We'll see what happens.  Will also be interesting to see how Sacks does tomorrow!

Wide Open is still with MMM. In fact, the people who created Wide Open were members of the MMM team in Abingdon when they created it.

Hey, how about the Sobe Adrenaline Rush?  That would be a cool sponsor for Carl's car....what do ya think?

Is that the same Sobe that sponsored Norm Benning?

Don't forget Team Red Bull next year, whatever the heck that's supposed to be.

I have no idea where SoBe went.  Norm still has his hauler painted the same way, with the lizards & all still on it, he just took the text "SoBe" off, lol.  Pretty interesting looking if you look at it.

SoBe was bought out by Pepsi Cola.  After that, they stopped sponsoring Norm Benning.  He still has the trailor painted that way but just removed the lettering.  I guess no use spending $$$ to paint over a trailor when you don't have a sponsor.

While at the track, I was approached by a guy selling XS Energy Drink (www.xsgear.com) made by Xs Energy LLC from Santa Fe Springs, CA.  He was just some kid hocking it independantly out of his trunk, but maybe someone from another part of the country can tell me if they are pretty big in another region (we don't have Hair Of The Dog, Wide Open or Who's Your Daddy here) and worth checking into.  This stuff tasted pretty good.  Like a diet Mtn. Dew.

Up here in East Tennessee, we got Dr. Enuf, and it is very popular with locals and people buying it over the internet (most of their sales actually come from the latter.) They used to be involved with racing a while back, so they may be a good canadate to sponsor Carl...

I just watched the qualifying coverage I had taped.  Fox went out of their way to mention sponsors.  Props to them for doing so.  And by Fox, I mean Mike Joy.  Thank You!!!  Who's Your Daddy and Hair Of The Dog both got nice mentions.  Until DarWal interupted with some gibberish.

Also another shout-out to a never-before-mentioned sponsor, www.psychopedia.com   who has been an associate of Stanton Barrett's all year long.  Is this part of Yippienet.com?
