Little note about Peak Fittnes Racing
« on: March 11, 2006, 01:02:33 AM »

This time last year, they had only made one race, and barely too, qualifying 40th for vegas.  The finished 33rd in that race, and were still way down below 35th in owners points.  Granted, Hermie sadler was their driver, and maybe wasnt up to speed yet with a cup car.

Fast Foward 2006.  New sponsors, new shop, new driver.  Made all the races so far, and with quite ease, qualifed a respectable 30th for the down force track of Vegas.
most importantly, 30th currently in owner standings, although, these dont mean anything until after the bristol race.  But a hell of a lot better than 2005.

Shows how much they came from 2005, and shows good promise for Carl.

Good for PEAK!!!!!   I'm happy for them!  (plus, like you said, could be potential good news for Carl as well!! Smiley)  What a difference a year makes, huh?!  I like him and all, but getting rid of the Hermulator was probably a wise decision.  Can't believe Aarons is backing him as much as they are.

I agree Mattswad. I like Hermie very much as well, but considering the state Peak was in last year, I can't help but wonder if Hermie just isn't a very a good car owner.

I will now run and hide to avoid the inevitable amount of rotton garbage that will be thrown my way.

Yeah it has appeared that Peak has made some great strides forward. It doesnt hurt either to have Kevin Lepage as their driver. He sure knows how to qualify well in not the best of circumstances.

Sounds like good news for Carl.  Just hope it all pans out for when Carl runs with Peak, I assume as a second Peak car in the field.  Does anyone know or have an idea on how Peak spends money on both teams.  I assume the current team gets most of the cash/help.  When Carl runs the second car will he get as much help from the team or will he be left with scraps?  Can't do much with scraps in Nextel cup.  I'm not trying to put a damper on Peak, but, I'm  a Carl Long fan and want to see him run well with Peak or anyone else that comes along.  Any info on this?

Well peak has a diverse sponsor base. So i think both car's would be pretty equal. They would both get same engine package at least

Hey there Roachcoach,
Where is Peak's new shop? I thought they were still leasing Travis Carters shop in Statesville. (former #26 shop)

LePage is a good driver, I bet R&J racing wish they still had him. Whatever car LePage drives it goes fast. Kevin LePage is alot like Carl Long he can take a underpowered and out $$$$ racecar and still make it go fast... i assume because of knowledge and driving abilities.

I agree, we have seen both of these drivers do things with cars that are way off.  It would be great to see them as teammates one day. Wink

I don't know, but I see Chris71's avatar (Christina Agulanuenbergerweininstein) crawling all over my skin at night.

LePage rocks at qualifying.

Mountain Dew just re-signed as a primary sponsor for atlanta, hope this sponsor stays so it gives carl a better shot with road loans as his sponsor
