The only "fortunate" thing about it all is neither of those cars were going to be used til Dover in 3 weeks. I hope they have Carl's Dodge finished.

Nightmare is a good word to describe that... Carl obviously just went into T4 on his first lap with the intention of going all out into his second flying lap.... and it all went pear shaped (as we say in the UK). At least that shows they were going for it. What a shame that both cars got damaged though.  |

So what happened to Long in practice? for the Chevy American Revolution 400 at Richmond International Raceway. Carl Long crashed his primary #00 Buyer's Choice Auto Warranty Chevrolet during afternoon practice.
WHAT HAPPENED? During a qualifying run, my car's been extremely tight in the center of the corner. It was a little bit free entering Turn 1 each time and unfortunately for me with different run we had a different set of shocks on it. And those shocks wouldn't let the car recover-it kind of held it down real stiff. And when it got loose on me getting into Turn 1, where I've been recovering all practice, I reckon I gave out of talent.
IT APPEARS YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR MOTOR IN THE SPARE CHASSIS - DID YOU LIKE THAT MOTOR? Yeah, that's the only engine that we have, so..(GM PR), so it looks like Long will make an attempt to make the race.(5-13-2005)

Well, bring on Charlotte I guess, I hope the Dodge will be ready until the team can get the chevys repaired
