Truck Practice Speeds

the truck was handling like shit.  one of the crew guys i was talking to during qualifying said they made alot of changes from practice.  carl said he pretty much wrecked in turn 3 each lap but didnt hit anything.  will post pictures shortly.  waiting for my camera battery to get enough charge in it to transfer them onto my computer.

ok i just loaded every picture i took into an album, didnt bother to sort them or anything.  you'll know which ones are carls.  the interior pictures are of his truck.  the truck garage was a junkyard after the race from the last lap wreck.  theres more sod stuffed in the radiators and frame rails of wrecked trucks than there is in one of the track parking fields.  the last few pictures i was just sitting in my car messing around with the camera while traffic flowed out of my parking lot.  i'll have more pictures and more details tomorrow.  i'm going to shower and go to sleep so i can wake up in 5 hours to go back to the track and get there in time for when the gates open at 9 i think.

Very little banter.  (wasn't there for 1st and 2nd practice)

At one point long before he went out he grabbed a crew's radio and said, "You know I noticed that everybody except us is running with tape of their grill, whadda think about that?"

Someone else responded, "I think only and idiot would put tape on a loose race-truck."

Carl said something like,"well you've got one idiot driving this thing" sounding jokingly.

In the qualifying laps I heard Carl say the truck was way loose in the middle and coming out of 3/4.  Thought he was about to wreck on both laps.  Someone else replied "Well you did an incredibly fantastic job of not hitting anything" and that's all I heard.

So what the heck was Adult Oncology/Hemotology...listed as Carl's sponsor for Atlanta, but nowhere on the truck?

Destiny was saying that Atlantic Station (atyourdoor.com) was this huge live/work community in downtown Atlanta.  Pretty interesting and potentially developing sponsor!!  I'll have to check out their website later.  Meanwhile, time to chug a brew and go wake her up so we can get our lazy asses to the track!  ITS RACE DAY!!!      (probably the LAST race day we'll see this weekend...stupid rain!)

yeah the adult oncology was on the truck.  and atlantic station did have a decal on the quarter panel.  you're right mattswad, atlantic station is the big residential/commercial/lots of other stuff development here in midtown atlanta.  its right on 75/85 on 17th st, about a mile north of georgia tech's campus here.  i figured you were in some of those pictures somewhere but i wasnt sure which one was you.  i did see you when i was on the phone with you and you waved, but you moved after that so i wasnt sure which one woulda been you in those pictures.

Way to go Matt you broke the link with the pic of "tiny you". Hope you have a good day at the track maybe the rain will go around the track. Ok maybe not, just looked at the radar, stay home or build an arc!!!!!
