2. Im glad Kirk made it in. Congratulations!!!  I have said in previous posts when he was being slammed that I liked him. I read where he said he was going to drive the heck out of the Car Sunday. Hopefully he wont sell to Riggs. Which brings me to.......

3. Im so glad Riggs didnt make it in. I despise him so much. My reasons would be petty to you all but I hate him just the same. I hope he sits home and watches the race on tv.  Im tempted to send his jackman a thank you card but thats pretty classless. lol {Sorry if I pissed anyone off on #3 here but I dont usually vent or gloat so Im taking my turn at it.}

Stop critizing Riggs for taking Bensons ride. Obviously Scott has shown flashes of brilliance which Johny Benson sure hasnt. Im hoping Scott gets in the Daytona 500. His whole season will be ruined by some moron who S@Ps in every race hes in. Kirk somehow cheats his way into another race. Congrads on being a prostitute. Roll Eyes

You really cant let someone have their glory for once can you?

Season ruined?  Oh well, thats what you get when you run the risk of going to a new team and not having the points.

And I dont know where you get this "cheat" thing from, he was 34th quick or so, faster than all the DEI cars and other good ones.  Hell, Barrett was only a tick slower than Kirk, did he also "cheat" as well.

If Carl would've Q'd, you wouldn't even be bitching about the issue, but the fact is, he had a car 10mph off of the pole, FACE FREAKING REALITY FOR ONCE!!!!  He tried, but face it, who thought he had a good chance of making it, based off of what the 80 did last year.  Though it did prove Carl was a much better driver in the 80 than who was in it last year.

Hell, I dont even give a shit if he does S/P it, HE EARNED THE FREAKING SPOT IN THE RACE!!!!!  I hope he does it after 10 laps to piss you and everyone else off even more.

Like I said before, I'm excited for the Peak deal, as I really think they are a underrated team right now, and will surprise some people this year.

Seems like Benson has flashed a lot more than Riggs, and for a lot longer. Benson even has a win, something Riggs does not have.  You could say that Riggs is making money at a faster clip, but purses have been up dramatically in the past few years.  Also, Benson hasn't run much the past 2 or 3 years because he isn't young or good looking, despite being more qualified than half the young guns out there.

Thanks for the back up Jay. However Mayfield, my point wasnt who is better, Riggs or Benson, Im just saying Riggs hasnt shown what you said he has. Otherwise he would be driving Sunday and not Shelmerdine..

The last time I knew, I am allowed to critizise anyone I want to. Actually, it has alot more to do than him taking a ride. That was just fuel on the fire. And scott hasnt shown squat yet. Brilliance? When? He hasnt done anything to show hes going to be brilliant. Decent maybe but thats not brilliant. And how many cup races has he won? Thats what I thought. Bottom line is Kirks in, Scotts not. Not everybody has to like the same drivers you do. Get over it. And twice {in another post} you said Kirk cheated his way into another race. Well since you said that, you obviously must have proof. Lets see it. In front of everybody here on this board. Tell us exactly how Kirk cheated. Your slamming two drivers that I like. Am I telling you to stop? Not at all. You have every right to. Just as i do. So it probably wouldnt hurt you to think a little before you write. Show a little class.

Im not saying Scott is a brilliant racer I said he has shown flashes of brilliance. Two different things buddy. Yeah he has zero wins but he has only ran two full seasons and we all know his ex- teamate Nemechek got the good cars. Its true Kirk didnt actually cheat but he beat the system. He ran 2 great Q laps and thats it. During the race his car was not good at drafting at all. I dont understand why he can compete in the 500 with a slow poke car that wont win when theres someone out there who  has a chance to actually get a good finish. Scott is racing for a championship and Shelmerdine beating the system ruined that.

Id like to know why you dipise Scott so much. Hes one of the nicest drivers in the garage. I cant believe the amount of direspect towards him and me today. Telling me I have little class? You dont even know me Im not some trashy redneck. Please I NEVER said anything bad towards you I expect the same. Thanks

Actually, if you look at the Shelmerdine post in General Discussion, you will see that I said we disagree what each other says but that I respect your opinions. Always have and always will. We just dont have to agree. As far as Scotts brilliance, I just have not seen it at all. Maybe our opinions of brilliance differs. About me saying you need some class. You keep saying Kirk cheated. No he didnt. NASCAR didnt find anything and if you know something they dont, you might want to contact them. You said three times already that he cheated. I am asking you once again. Show concrete proof!!!!! Dont just say it. I think your a very knowledgeble person but your killing your credibility when you say people cheat just cause your not happy they got in and a driver you like didnt. Thats where the classless comment comes from and I will stick by it. I also apologized in advance for my comments yesterday.
And finally, About Scott Riggs. First of all, I am not too knowledgeble about the techincal side of NASCAR. I dont pretend I do and I leave that up to you guys on here. You guys blow me away about the stuff you know about cars and engines ect. But Im 39 years old and what I do know is that all my life I look at people by first impressions. Im not a big Busch series fan so I dont exactly know what race it was but it was three or four years ago that Scott spun a driver out. Maybe it was his fault, maybe it wasnt I dont know but in an interview, he said something about that idiot shouldnt have been where he was. Just really rubbed me the wrong way. After that, I didnt like him. Then he took the ride from Johnny Benson which is understandable as anybody would have done it since it was a great opportunity but you have to remember that Jonny is my all time favorite driver and that just added to my dislike for the man. He might be the nicest driver but I feel how I feel and I cant change that. Just like people dont like Jeff Gordon for no other reason that hes Jeff Gordon. So thats why I dont like him and Im happy he didnt get in. Maybe I should have shown a bit more tact how I first said it but I still feel the same way.

So Mayfield19fan, I dont hate you. Im not mad at you. We just disagree totally on how we each look at things. BUT I WILL ALWAYS RESPECT YOUR OPINIONS!!!!

Ouch... that #92 is wrecked.

Yeah it was.  It stopped right under me where I was standing in the Fan Zone and I got some really good pictures of it.  Will try to post them later.

If any of you believe that Scott Riggs will be competing for the championship this year, you're smokin crack! Wink

OK...seriously....if he wins the championship, I will mow the lawn in a tutu and take pictures and post them on here.  If he is within 180 points of being in the top ten by the time of the chase, I'll run through the garage area at the 2nd Atlanta race in a thong.

Aw heck.... I do that stuff under normal circumstances.

Let's up the ante.  If he's in the Chase, I'll put a pro-George W. Bush sticker on my car and ride around in public for a month with it on there!

Gunsmoke. Hes pretty cool. He was also a professional singer. I was at a concert. What exactly happened and how bad was it for Johnny. Did it cost him any positions? I do know he ended on the lead lap.

Coming from you Mattswad that cannot be topped. But heres what I will do. If Scott Riggs even makes the Championship chase, I will join the Scott Riggs fan club whatever it costs { I assume he has one} and I will get on his forum and praise him up and down. Also on here. I will publicly apologize to MayfieldandKahne and announce his {Riggs'} brilliance. I will also buy a Scott Riggs Valvoline cap {not an old Johnny Benson one} and post a picture on here with me wearing it with a big ol' crap eating grin on my face. I still wont like him as i cant change my feelings. But thats what i will do.

I am amazed that people think teams give one driver better cars than the other.   It is in the team owners best interest to have cars capable of winning for anybody that drives them. Nemecheck was in contention more because he is just a flat better driver than Scott Riggs.  There is nothing shady about it. Talent is talent.
