DeeDee, thanks so much for the update---what should we Carl fans do....email, call, anything we can do before he goes before the appeal board?  If so, what would work best?  Nascar needs to know that the fans are NOT in their corner on this!

PS. My Carl Long Racing tshirt just came in the mail today, but I haven't gotten to open the package yet.  Grin

Good luck as Carl does not deserve the punishment he was given, hopefully Nascar will open its eyes about this whole ordeal and some just resolution will come out of this appeal.

Tom, you should form a protest march out front!

Literally...Chi town? WTHeck?!?!  Why not just have it in Monaco or something?! Just more money (on transportation) that they're making Carl & DD spend. Roll Eyes

And just FYI....this final appeal is directly to Charles Strang who is the commisioner of the "NAtional Stock Car Racing blah blah blah" (just another Brian France clone who works indirectly for NA$CAR)

So send anything to the addresses I've mentioned before just with "Attention: Charles Strang" on the header as NA$CRAP does not publicly publish contact info for anyone. (wonder why? Roll Eyes )

It woulda made sense had it been the day after the race in Joilet.   However, one thing to note is that the following race weekend is the furthest possible location away from Daytona Beach and since it falls on a Monday... Chicago is only three hours away from Michigan Speedway ..   and if you take a look at the map route http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=40.25321&lon=-103.430215&zoom=6&q1=jackson%2C%20mi&q2=sonoma%2C%20ca  its on the way to Sonoma..

So.. that being said Chicago is not a "random" location per se...      and its a great city during the summer as Tom can attest to.

Chicago is actually the location of Mr Strang.  That is the reasoning for Chicago. It has nothing to do with where the race is or where it is going to be. I really thought we were going to have to go to Daytona.
