It's even making the news over here. NASCAR stories here are only ever about Joonyer, Gordon, Jawnson or to report on whatever Kyle's latest complaint is - for a story about an underdog to make the front page of Autosport's website is unheard of: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/75462

I hope your appeal goes well and I hope NASCAR realizes just how ridiculous this penalty is.
Best of luck.

I withdraw any and all comments about it being a "good race" for Carl.
I'm devastated. Why a $200k fine and points for a non-points race?
Especially when the big teams get $25k fines for worse offenses.
Shocked and dismayed in Orlando.

I am very sad to read this news. I find myself caring less and less about Nascar anymore with their ridiculous rulings, bogus yellow flags, and out of control fines. I really feel bad for Carl and I hope that he can win his appeal so that at least he can maintain his regular job. Btw Hi Tom.

An engine builder has to stand behind his engine. If Carl purchased a "legal Nascar Motor" from someone then I would be looking for that someone to pay the fine.

Leave it to freaking Nascar. True inconsistency at its best. I bet if that was Dupont and Jeff Gordon they wouldn't have been suspended. Absolute bullshit, i'm totally steamed, and not just because it's Carl (which does really suck) but because Nascar has done this to such a small independant team. I'm scared this could be the end of the team if they don't win the appeal. Also, I wonder if Carl can race for another team? They did say suspension until August 18, but is that only for him driving for his team?
Both Carl & DeeDee are suspended. They can't even go to the track until 8/18.
We are appealing so we will have about 10 days until they hear our case. Nascar will allow us to go to the track during this waiting period.

Carl and DeeDee I am with you all through this hardship. I was always taught that in order to make a happy and successful life we have to go through the struggles and fight all the odds and fight the demons. I am so angry at NASCAR; however, we love this sport so much and Carl and DeeDee always fight to live a lifestyle that you want.
Best wishes, Mark

I think NASCAR has to realize that while this kind of fine is necessary to get the attention of the bigger teams, it's also the kind of fine that can kill a smaller team. As it stands right now, this fine and penalty is completely disproportionate to the size of Carl's operation.
This is an instance where you can't just have a blanket penalty for everyone, because not everybody has the same set of circumstances. We're talking about a man's livelihood here, so I think NASCAR has to/needs to take this into consideration.
As always, Carl and DeeDee have my full support. I really wish there was something we as fans could do!

Carl took the high road in his statement, but I'm not going to. This one pushed me over the edge. I've been teatering for 3 years, but now I'm done with NASCAR. Hello ARCA & hello IRL. It's nuts the way NASCAR has left its base behind. They had a meteoric rise over the past several years, but they are already spiraling downward. I think their best days are far behind. I'm done.

You can all send a "nice" thankyou letter to Brian France for downward spiral along with the inconsistency. The guy is a money loving, only cares about himself, self centered asshole.
