SO........am I correct in assuming that today, February 10 is the 42nd day of the year??EDS was owned by Ross Perot. Yup, the same Ross Perot that ran for President in 1992 & 1996 and founded the Reform Party. And BTW---if this *IS* the 42nd day of the year, I don't have any #42's that stand out and are post worthy. Maybe Tenney or Paul can design a #42 "42nd President" car for Obama/Biden to post here! Or I could take the "zero" off of my #420 NR2k3 car and show off my NORML sponsored HIGH Performance Motorsports car?! It is actually the 41st day, 31 in Jan.+10 in Feb=41.
Another interesting fact about Perot: up until he sold it last year, he owned the only version of the Magna Carta that was in private hands.
And, unless I'm missing a joke, I believe Obama/Biden are the 44th administration
Sorry if I'm being to nit picky.

OK, I've been away from my home computer for a bit yet again (I ~LOVE~ my new girlfriend in South Carolina!!!) )
EDIT----Added the #47 & #50 of Bruce Hill

Bruce Hill racing with Cecil Gordon. Yup....that does indeed say Union City, GA on the 1/4 panels! Mike & Jay will remember that as the closest town to my house and we also went to the crappy "mall" there as well I believe.
#47-Alan Grice--1989----a driver from Australia...he had a really cool Fosters scheme. Even when I was 9 years old, I remember asking my Great-Grandmother what Fosters was when this spin occurred. (she didn't know, God rest her soul!)
Morgoth with his self-owned cars, before he succomed to the darkside. 1988. Winners Circle Auto Parts #47 Cup Buick (middle)
#48-Greg Sacks driving for Thomas Winkle's team in 1989. Same team that campaigned the #97 Buick in 1988 and also launched Mickey Gibbs Rookie Of The Year Campaign in 1989 with GMAC sponsorship until it collapsed 1/3 of the way through the season.
#49 Stanley Smith---Coolest Interstate Batteries scheme EVER!!!!! Another of my one-eyed warriors! Still racing like a pirate and damned proud of it! (yarrrr as meself is too!!! )
Clay Young----Sadly, from Georgia. The starting of the Start & Parkers as helped by Jimmy Means. Notice that the sponsor is Aflac?
Greg Sacks---1987---I just don't understand what went wrong with the Dingmon Brothers team? They seemed to have all of the pieces put together. (decent driver, good crew chief, wealthy owner--for the time---who had ties in the oil/Valvoline industry)
And here is the team at Daytona when they were very competitive (for the first 20 minutes) during Speedweeks of 1988
Bruce Hill at the 1979 Daytona 500, driving for Walter Ballard

Am I correct in assuming that today, February 20th would be the 50th day of the year? (please excuse my idiocy, I am from a conservative family taught by public education ) 51st actually, but close enough to 50

Many of them I have stored on my computer and upload them to my photobucket page. But I have several websites I love to visit to look at old-school racing pictures. I think you're a member of one. The Historical Stock Car Racing Forum is GREAT! http://simracin40.proboards25.com/index.cgi?Stock Car Racers Reunion also has TONS of pics, but they're not organized in any manner. http://racersreunion.ning.com/Ray Lamm has gazillions on his fotiki page: http://public.fotki.com/tona/And some (like the last one I just posted of Carl & Neil Bonnett) I just simply do an image search on google. I also have a few other fotiki/photobucket/imageshack pages saved on my "Favorites" as well. I just remembered recently that you can right click on any picture and go to "Properties" and it will give you the original URL that the pic can be found at. EDIT-----------Dadgummit!!! I can't keep up with the days!!! So, to remain current, HERE is day 52's post.....and we ALL know who that's going to be!!! Jimmy Means 1988---I loved the Eureka Vacuum Cleaners scheme, more so than his Alka Seltzer car. I never was much of a fan of the look of the 1988/1989 Pontiac Grand Prix though, I think the scheme looked better in a Chevrolet! And from 1994 (I believe) when he had NAPA for a 5 or 10 race sponsorship. One of the best looking NAPA cars ever! (along with Stub Fadden & Brendan Gaughn) Thanks for posting these Matt! I loved the NAPA scheme. He ran it on and off for 1993 and 1994. I remember seeing Mike Skinner driving the NAPA car at The Rock for Smut and he hung in there all day. Interesting bit of trivia for you folks. Did you know that Jimmy Means ran a race for Rick Hendrick? It was in 1987 he drove I believe it was Charlotte in the #52 Folgers Chevy. He qualified good but the engine broke sadly ending Jimmy's best shot at a win. Anyone ever see a picture of that car?

I've never seen a picture of it, but try to look up the article "Jimmy 'Means' a Lot to Junior". It was an article talking about how great of friends Junior was with Jimmy's son growing up and how he always enjoyed helping Brad collect parts and pieces from the other team for Jimmy. It makes a mention of that very race. Jimmy qualified well and led early; he was running in the top-5 when something broke and took him out. Junior said he and Brad laid in the hauler crying after the race ended like that.
