Looks like he's pulled his head out of NA$CAR's rectum just long enough to look around and see what's going on in the world outside it.  Remember what happened the last time DW said anything remotely questioning the glorious sactioning body though?  I swear its like Ill Kim and North Korea.  You dare NOT question Brian.

When DW first started in the booth, he was outspoken and would speak his mind if he disagreed with the goons in charge.  It didn't take very long (a month maybe?) before NA$CAR told him, look WE put food on your table....you'd be NOTHING without NASCAR, but NACAR would be fine without YOU....you either play by our rules (and not say anything controversial or demeaning about the sanctioning body) of you'll be out of a job.

Since then, he's played kiss-ass to the league.  I betcha we won't be hearing ANYTHING more than, "NASCAR can do no wrong....I love the NASCAR" out of DarWal from now on though. Undecided

For everyone's sake though, I sure hope that isn't true.  I really liked Darrel when he wasn't afraid to speak his mind.

From Scene Daily...well my money is on them biting the dust.  They had cool looking cars.  They were underdogs, I guess you could darned sure say that.  It was cool that they had James Hylton in the car this year.....even if it was a Start & Park, I guess its acceptable since he was literally a *field filler* because only 43 cars entered the race.  They always had nice looking cars.  But I've just always been disapointed by this team.

Quote
Jay Robinson Racing will switch to Chevrolets for the 2007 Busch Series - if the team is around. Team owner Jay Robinson said Tuesday his operation may not be around next season.

One of the sponsors for his two-car team, Advil, will not return next year, and Robinson hasn't been able to find a replacement. A deal to run cars for another established team has yet to come to fruition.

"I thoroughly love it and enjoy it and would love to be able to participate," Robinson said. "Unfortunately, we're the team that's missed the most races. We're just on the down side of things right now and unfortunately might not make it."

The 2006 season was a difficult one for Robinson's team, as his No. 49 missed 19 of the 35 Busch races, including the last five, and his No. 28 missed five of 13 events entered.

Jay Robinson Racing started racing the Busch Series in 2001 and is one of the smaller teams in the sport. While other teams are spending $5 million or more, Robinson's budget was less than $1 million in 2006.

"The sport changed a couple of years ago to a point where if you're not coming to the table with lots and lots of money, you don't need to come to this table," Robinson said. "It never was that way prior to that. It's just an environment with a lot of people with a lot of money who are willing to gamble on."

The reason for the switch from Ford, Robinson said, is because the market for used Ford parts has dried up. It's easier to find Chevrolet parts at a lower price, he said. The team is holding an auction this weekend for some of its Ford equipment.

Robinson said he hopes to know in the next couple of weeks whether he'll be able to continue, pending sponsorship.

if you look up the word "cheap" in the dictionary, you'll see a big fat picture of jay robinson's face next to it lol.  Jay's the one who won't invest money into the engines of the cars.  The cars themselves aren't that bad, it's just the horses that are pulling it.  and i know i know, "jay can do whatever he wants blah blah blah, he wants to make a profit, blah blah blah"  sorry, my impersoniation of all of jay's loyal fans lol.  If Jay truely wants to run, he'll be back next year at daytona, sponsorship or not, he ran without a sponsor before advil anyways.

He's doing a great job (business wise) if he ran both the 28 and 49 teams for under a million. That's 48 races attempted between 2 teams. That's $20,833 per car, per attempted race.  thumbsup2

#98 team closed up? hearing that Ray Evernham Motorsports has closed the #98 Dodge Truck Series Team that Erin Crocker drives. Supposedly most team members have be relocated to other EMS Teams and that Crocker will race a limited number of ARCA races in 2007.(12-1-2006)

Sauter moving back up to Cup, with Haas CNC: Johnny Sauter is returning to the Nextel Cup Series, and will drive the #70 Chevy for Haas CNC Racing in 2007. Jeff Green, who finished 28th in the driver standings, will continue to drive the #66 for Haas CNC http://www.jayski.com/cupnews.htm#sirius

well that takes him out of the RYR list

I was wondering how this one would turn out.  Sauter deserves a chance in Cup, and hopefully this opportunity works out for him.  I expected Sauter to be put in the #66 and Green moved to the #70, like the deal at Ginn Racing, but for Sauter I don't think it will make much difference.  He'll be fast enough in that car to make the first 5 races anyway.

Shepherd Awarded by Nintendo:#89-Morgan Shepherd is one of 100 people across America who have been honored by game-maker Nintendo for their ageless endeavors, the company announced December 1. Amber McCollom, senior manager of public relations for Nintendo, said as part of his recognition as a 2006 Nintendo Ageless American, the 65-year-old Shepherd will be presented with a Nintendo DS player and Brain Age software to help allow him to "keep his mental muscle flexed." "Your devotion to challenging the limits of what one can accomplish is remarkable," McCollom said of Shepherd. "Your unbounded enthusiasm sets such a positive example for all ages." Shepherd will celebrate his 40th year in stock car racing during the 2007 season, beginning in February at the historic Daytona 500. Shepherd will again pilot the #89 Racing With Jesus Dodge Charger for Faith Motorsports in 2007.(Faith Motorsports PR)(12-3-2006)

Guess who's back...

Sherman to Drive for McGill in 2007: NASCAR driver, Brent Sherman, and McGill Motorsports have set high goals for the 2007 Busch season. As one of the few remaining, non-Cup affiliated teams, the #36 will run the full 35-race schedule.(McGillMotorsports.com)(12-3-2006)

Nice to see that there are still teams who sell themselves out to corporate sponsors. At least Tim Sauter had some talent.

McGill----Out of business in 8 months.

Nintendo thingy?  Most idiotic thing I've heard of all weekend.  Wow.  What a waste.

Morgan:
"Umm...whats this button?  A sideways Jesus cross?"

Nintendo:
"No Morgan, that's the "X" button."

1-Morgan's illiterate
2-Like he would EVER play a video game Roll Eyes
3-Couldn't that money be better spent?  (like by reducing the price of the Wii a little bit?)
4-What *warrants* this?  I mean, yeah, he's old, and he drives.  For 2 laps.  Then he puts around for a few more the following day.  Hell, at least James Hylton RACES the entire distance.  And he's far older.

Cope back in the #74 in 2007: Derrike Cope, #74-McGlynn Racing and Sundance Vacations will now begin looking at their options to further the team's productivity for next year. Cope adds, "I want to thank all of the crew for their hard work and dedication. They are all giving their time each week voluntarily, with the exception of [a few]. We accomplished a great deal more than people expected us to, although the latter portion of the year was a bit disappointing. For such a small team I personally am pleased with what we were able to make happen [in 2006]." The 2007 race season will bring along another year of hope for McGlynn Racing and Sundance Vacations. Derrike Cope concludes, "I am already looking forward to the start of the 2007 NASCAR season!"http://www.jayski.com/teams/74.htm

they will make 5 races

Micheal Waltrip I  thnk stoll BAM Racing's crew cheif (David Hyder) Chassis Specialists (Dean Johnson) and there General Manager (Eddie Jones), why do I think that? Well Micheal Waltrip is announcing the new crew cheifs soon and those 3 people have been removed off of the BAM racing team protion of the bam49racing.com portion of the site... And Mikey probally saw how good of the job they were doing for BAM Racing and said "Oh, got to get those guys right there". I hope that they just are changing there pictures or something because I know that BAM Racing would not fire them, they have done a really good job for team BAM the short time that they were there. But the funny thing is that in BAM Racing's Pre-Homestead press release they assured that all threee of those employees would be back for the 2007 season?? I hope that this is not going to happen (all of those people leaving BAM). I just hope that they are updating there pictures and had some technical error and had to remove them from the web-site.... or something like that because this is really going to stink if all of this really does happen out like I am thinki ng it MIGHT.
