Still on the lead lap on lap 120, in 25th place. This is a VERY respectable run for him.

I agree, bringing JANI-KING was a smart decision.

He's doing a pretty good job considering what that team has been like all year. It will be interesting to see how he does over these six races in the 66 car.

Good work by him and that team so far today. This should go some way to helping his tattered reputation.

Very nice run for Garvey, where is the part where hermiesadler shows up and starts crying?

Funny how a change of driver, who has never (to my knowledge) even ran at Pocono, and he can get a top 25 finish for a team that has struggled so mightily this year.

Yea, too bad this is the first time that team has had SPONSORSHIP this year. Sponsors do bring extra money, ya know. That is something Hermis never got, probably b/c the team was just waiting for Hermie to get tired and leave, then get someone with money to sign on. When Jani-King is gone, so will those good finishes.

That is PROBABLY the most naive statement I have ever heard on this board.
(1.) You don't know how much money Peak was giving. Believe me, it isn't as little as you think.
(2.) IT'S THE SAME CARS, SAME TEAM! It's not like JaniKing came on board and they bought new cars this past week. This whole year they have ALWAYS BEEN Robert Yates Racing cars.

I have no problem at all for Hermie Sadler, I like him. But: That's just making excuses, Long4604.

I totally agree - the only change to that team in the last week has been the paint scheme and driver. There is no way a small extra cash injection could make much difference to any team in five days. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure Hermie probably would have managed the same in the car had he been in it this week though - the luck just went their way for the first time in a while.

Aaron's was on the car at Talladega.  Aaron's is of course connected to Michael Waltrip, MWR, and DEI.  Even though Hermie Sadler was in a Ford, Aaron's would have brought more to the plate than Janiking this week.  Hermie Sadler is one of my favorite drivers, but it's just an excuse to say he could have done what Garvey did.  Granted...Sadler had a few top 25's going until he got caught up in a few messes, but that's the best FINISH Peak has had this year.

Also, I'm thinking Janiking isn't giving Garvey much money anyway.  John Deere sponsored Morgan Shepherd a few times last year, it didn't put him in the top 25.

John Deere never directly sponsored Morgan. Voyles Equipment Co., a John Deere distributor was on the car, but gave them only about $3500 a week.

That kinda proves my point, just because there's a name on the side of a racecar doesn't mean there's big money going into it.  Hell, McDonald's, Burger King, Shell, and Taco Bell all sponsor teams locally.  I'm doubting that makes their budgets any bigger than the teams being sponsored by the little man.

Don't forget the added cash (although relatively small) that Hermie brought with East Tennessee Trailors.

Let's not get TOOOO ahead of ourselves here though......see my earlier post about respecting Hermie, Pulling for him yet still doubting his ability as a driver........I mean its only been ONE race, but STILL, WOW!!!!!  HECK of a run by Garvey.   And a definite slap to Hermie's career.......how big of a slap?Huh.......We shall see........
