Used parts used results.....sounds like dating to me Lets look at the up side .....This team got in by the points they earned trying over and over again.........and Carl and company moved up 4 places in points, thats cool......hey maybe we will catch Robby Gordon??? Ya think? Remember all that sponsor talk? Well to my knowledge they are still coming, right? That means alittle more cash for alittle better stuff. If the car gets hot you have to shut it down, because they cant afford to blow the engine. As far as the duct work goes. The cars are really responsive to aero changes and that might be a bad thing if you dont know what to expect.
Somebody come up with something fun to talk about this week........

It would be nice if the Fox/FX announcers would say something about it, all I heard was "the 00 is in the garage". Maybe the announcing will get better next month.
I agree, the announcers do a poor job when it comes to tracking the smaller teams in how they do. But if Jeff Gordon or Dale Jr. slows down in the slightest bit, you bet they'll get a report from the pits to find out what is going on.

They usually only interview drivers that have a decent amount of fans. Carl Long is not a big name driver. They usually don't even interview guys like Mike Bliss, Scott Wimmer, or Travis Kvapil after they have something go wrong with the car because they aren't very popular drivers.

I don't mean interviews, but like pit reports to hear what happened to them. I mean its not that hard for a FOX pit reporter to listen to a team's radio when the team is having trouble.

I'm starting to be really discouraged by some of my fellow board members saying things like "when's he gonna finish a race?".... and "what's the excuse this time?"
They aren't excuses guys, like someone else stated, USED equipment more often than not gets USED results.
They are truly doing the best they can. As Tom stated yesterday, Carl, Ryan, and the whole team were very frustrated over the race. I can attest to that as well as Ryan sent me a brief email telling me he was not taking what happened in this race very good.
Patience is key. It will make finishing a race so much sweeter when it does happen. You can one day say "I stuck with this team and supported them through the bad times and the good". When this team does get good, Carl will gain fans, but ultimately we on this board are the diehards that were there through it all and that feels so damn good just thinking about it.
That's a true fan.
Cant say it better than that.
But remember a few years back when BAM Racing (ok I bashed them when they were gonna run Foyt in a car, but thats for a reason) couldnt finish a race and were running second hand equipment? Now they had two top 10s in the past few weeks with a driver whose best days are behind him.
Success is not going to come overnight, look at the 37 team, and we all (and myself as well) can admit we bashed the HELL out of them on here last year for their antics, but this year, even though they have struggled at times (and they also have no main sponsor), managed a great run at Daytona, and would've had a top 10 at Charlotte, but fell back at the end (still finished 12th I think).
And also, its not like the 00 team came from a highly successful program in another series, as they did struggle a bit in trucks with Ryan a few years back, and I think it took BIG balls to pull everything together and go Cup racing, especially with how it is money wise this year.
Some people on here (no names needed as its obvious as to who are the culprits) just need to have a thing called patience, and stop making moronic posts questioning the team's integrity.
That is all.

There's about two members on this board that will kinda taper off and complain a lot then jump on the bandwagon once good things start happening.

I know this a bit off subject, and most likely discussed on an earlier post. But, why didn't the team and Carl for that matter score any points for Bristol? Anybody who can answer this for me that sure would be appreciated. Thanks

I believe in the Winston Cup, the Firecracker 400, World 600, and the drivers earning top rides through years of struggles..and I like it that way.

Just curious, I hadn't logged on in a bit, and the login said my username no longer existed! Just hope there isn't a problem keeping data.
My 2nd question was whether Bobby Labonte's hauler driver gave Carl's driver(or the team) money for moving their hauler. It seemed like the only reason to move haulers was to let the 18 hauler serve as a mobile billboard for TV, since no trucks could leave until after the race, and Carl's had no sponsor on the side of it. I was at the race, and it was great to see Carl up near the front, if only for a while.
